Event Details

How can communities develop and implement strategies to be resilient to climate threats?

UC Davis and fellow thought-leading institutions are organizing a formally affiliated event of the Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS) to facilitate meaningful conversations in response to this question. We anticipate attendees from jurisdictional representatives of Under2 Coalition members, as well as select invited participants that will be in the area for the GCAS. Using an interactive format with four concurrent breakout sessions, we’ll discuss climate change-derived challenges impacting communities, and resiliency solutions along three theme areas:

  • Deriving cost-effective, energy efficient solutions for historically “undercooled” communities;
  • Deploying Distributed Energy Resources to enable resource-responsive electricity grid management; and
  • Rebuilding communities already devastated by climate-driven disasters.

Outcomes from breakout sessions will be:

  • Shared best
  • practices among stakeholders in cities, states and provinces;
  • Identification of shared challenges and potential solutions; and
  • Partnership opportunities between international regions and stakeholders.
