Culture for Climate, a unique collaboration of 12 San Francisco arts and cultural organizations, will welcome the 4,500 delegates from around the world attending the three-day Global Climate Action Summit.
Culture for Climate, a unique collaboration of 12 San Francisco arts and cultural organizations, will welcome the 4,500 delegates from around the world attending the three-day Global Climate Action Summit. Culture for Climate’s participating organizations are within steps of the headquarters of the Climate Summit, the George R. Moscone Convention Center in the city’s Yerba Buena/SOMA cultural district.
Each organization will offer free admission to Summit Delegates, from September 8-16, for a chance to step outside of the Climate Summit’s sessions and engage with a diverse range of cultural options; tour some of San Francisco’s most stunning architecture; and get inspired by world-class art and cultural programming.
The organizations range in size, mission, and scope: visual arts organizations represented include the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), SOMArts, Contemporary Jewish Museum (CJM), Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD), and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA); art galleries SF Camerawork and the Luggage Store Gallery; cultural entities including the California Historical Society, Children’s Creativity Museum, and the American Book Binders Museum; community-focused organizations the San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR), and Sites Unseen.
