I am fortunate to lead a conservation organization that has worked with a coastal community to record changes in weather conditions and to plan adaptation strategies and with two inland communities on riparian reforestation along a major watershed in southern Belize. Through our education and outreach program, we also work with several primary schools to create awareness of climate change and mitigation practices. With the assistance of an intern, we are collecting information from fishers and farmers on how changes in weather conditions are impacting their livelihood and I am eager to see the final results from that survey.
