Feliciano dos Santos is a social activist. Santos’ work has been through education campaigns and training communities on uncontrolled fires, he helps to facilitate the creation of natural resource management committees in the communities and promotes diverse training from conflict management, financial management, and resource management in a sustainable way. lead reforestation efforts and promote a new eco-friendly stove program. With his organization, have been carried out Climate Adaptation Plans to prepare communities to mitigate impacts. Due to the great climatic changes it is proposed to continue to carry out these plans for the different communities and to continue to educate to reduce the actions that influence in the climatic changes and to continue to propose sustainable solutions. He translated an internationally respected handbook, “A Community Guide to Environmental Health,” from English into Portuguese. For his work he received international recognition and received the Goldman Environmetal Prize in 2008, in 2010 he was selected as an explorer by National Geographic, in 2013 he was awarded the AMCAW prize, and in 2013 as best environmental educator by the Ministry for Environmental Action Coordination of Mozambique.
