Founder of Nativus
Liliana Jaramillo is an Ecuadorian biologist, who started to develop research on green roofs in Quito during her master´s degree in Australia. She went back to Quito and started her own project for experimenting with native plants on green roofs. Liliana has been awarded by UN Environment with the Young Champions of the World award in 2017. She has been funded and recognized locally for her work in the Women4Climate program and the ‘Reto de Emprendimiento Urbano’, being a local entrepreneurship championship. Nativus is the name she has given to the project, which currently seeks to develop applied research and make native plants available in the market for increasing highly functional green infrastructure in the city.
